Bed Bug Control
Bed bugs have been annoying people for thousands of years, and have recently become rampant in cities across the United States. Even residents here in Liberty, Missouri are not immune to them. Not only do they cause itchy bites, but they are also attached with an unfair stigma. Bed bug infestations can happen to anyone, even those with the cleanest homes, but people still often feel embarrassment and shame when it happens to them. If you are worried that you might have a bed bug infestation, the experts at Six Brothers Pest Control are here to help. Instead of panicking, take control of the situation and quickly get back on the road to bed bug-free living.
Proper Bed Bug Identification
The first step is to make sure that you are really dealing with bed bugs. There are several other insects that are regularly confused with bed bugs, so it is a good idea to know some basic bed bug characteristics. Bed bugs are brown or brownish-red with 6 legs, 3 body parts, and 2 antennae. They are approximately the size of an apple seed and may be flat or balloon-shaped if filled with blood. Bed bugs do not have wings to fly and do not jump. Since bed bugs feed exclusively on blood and prefer humans over animals, they are most often found within 20 feet of a sleeping area. Bed bugs may live in mattresses, bedding, bed frames, cracks and crevices of furniture, window coverings, clothing, and even behind electrical outlets. Aside from live bugs, other signs of bed bugs may include: small white eggs, pale yellow skins from molting, small rust-colored blood spots, or black dots of excrement that may bleed into fabric.

Bed bugs are particularly difficult to eliminate, so DIY treatments aren’t recommended and often just prolong the problem.
