Bed Bug Control
Finding bed bugs in your house may seem like a nightmare. They cause itchy bites, spread easily to other areas, and are very difficult to eliminate. That being said, don’t get discouraged. Bed bug control can be achieved through a combination of chemical and non-chemical methods. It may seem like an uphill battle, but Six Brothers Pest Control is here to help you from start to finish.
Signs of a Bed Bug Infestation in Independence
The first sign of a bed bug infestation is often waking up to red, itchy bites. Bed bugs are insects that feed exclusively on blood, and they prefer to bite humans over animals. They are active at night and are mostly found within 20 feet of a sleeping area. Bed bugs are reddish-brown and about the size of an apple seed. Normally they are flat and oval, but after they have eaten, they appear more balloon-shaped. Aside from seeing live bugs or receiving bites, some other signs to look for include: small white eggs that are oblong shaped, black dots of excrement that may bleed into fabric, and pale yellow skin that was shed during molting. These signs may be seen in all the places that bed bugs frequent like mattresses, bedding, the bed frame, other furniture, window coverings, and even behind electrical outlets. After a thorough inspection of these places, you should be able to tell if you have an infestation on your hands.
Non-Chemical Bed Bug Control
There are several ways you can start to treat bed bugs. High heat kills them, so a washer or dryer set on high for at least 30 minutes will eliminate bed bugs. This method works great on clothing, bedding, and other linens that can be washed. Cold will also kill bed bugs. Placing items in a bag in a chest freezer set to 0 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 hours will also work. Another non-chemical method of bed bug control involves decluttering your home, being careful not to contaminate areas of the home that are bed-bug free. Once you have decluttered, vacuum and thoroughly clean everything in the infested area.
Independence Bed Bug Exterminators
Once you have completed all of the non-chemical treatments that can be done, it is also highly recommended that you hire a professional exterminator to ensure that the bed bugs are gone for good. There are several different methods of chemical control, and it often takes a combination to effectively do the job. Six Brothers Pest Control specializes in bed bug control. We know how to beat these difficult pests, and we back up our services with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our company is family owned and operated and believes in the values of hard work, honesty, and excellent customer care.
